A family contacted Connecticut State Police this summer after the joint granite headstone for Gloria Benard and her son Michael Benard was taken from South Cemetery in Brooklyn, Windham County.
The family is offering a $2,500 reward for information on who took the Twilight Red stone, state police said.
An anonymous benefactor who heard of the theft paid to replace the grave marker, but the family wants the original back and the person who took it punished.
Police are asking anyone with information on the theft or the stone's location to contact the Brooklyn Resident Trooper's Office at (860) 234-1051.
